Terms of Service
1. Introduction and acceptance
Welcome to GospelGram. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the GospelGram platform, including our website at gospelgram.com, our mobile applications (collectively, the “Platform”), and any related services (together with the Platform, the “Service”).
The Service is operated by Theodoxia LLC (“GospelGram,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a Delaware limited liability company. By creating an account, making or receiving a donation, or otherwise using the Service, you (“you” or “User”) agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.
2. What GospelGram is
GospelGram is a social discovery and giving platform that connects supporters with Christian missionaries and mission organizations. The Service allows Users to:
- Discover and follow missionaries worldwide;
- Share content including posts, photos, videos, and updates;
- Make voluntary, one-time or recurring donations directly to individual missionaries;
- Run fundraisers and receive donations, once payout verification is complete (see Section 5).
GospelGram is a platform facilitator, not a charity, church, or tax-exempt organization. GospelGram does not solicit donations on its own behalf and does not hold, custody, manage, or control donor funds.
3. Eligibility and accounts
3.1 Minimum age
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users under 18 must have parental or legal guardian consent.
3.2 Account accuracy
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account and to keep that information updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
3.3 Account types
- Personal accounts — can browse, follow, post, and give. Cannot receive donations.
- Missionary accounts — can additionally run fundraisers and receive donations through the Service once they complete identity and payout verification (Section 5). Missionaries may also display an organization-verification badge where an affiliated organization has confirmed them.
- Organization accounts — Christian organizations, churches, or ministries that participate in verifying individual missionaries.
4. Donations and money flow
This section is critically important. Please read it carefully.
4.1 Direct person-to-person giving
All donations made through the Service flow directly from the donor to the recipient missionary’s own payment account via Stripe Connect. GospelGram does not receive, hold, custody, or control donor funds at any point. GospelGram is not a party to any donation transaction and is not a payee, beneficiary, trustee, or intermediary.
4.2 No consideration for donations
Donations made through the Service are voluntary personal gifts. Donors do not receive any goods, services, rewards, perks, badges, unlocks, exclusive content, membership status, or other consideration in exchange for their donations. Recipients have no obligation to provide anything to donors in return for a donation.
4.3 Donations are not tax-deductible
Donations made through GospelGram are personal gifts to individual recipients and are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions. GospelGram is not a charity, church, or tax-exempt organization. Donors should consult a qualified tax professional for specific tax advice. GospelGram makes no representations regarding the tax treatment of any donation.
4.4 Recurring donations
Donors may elect to schedule recurring donations. You may modify or cancel any recurring donation at any time through the in-app giving management screen, which will stop all future charges. Cancellation does not refund prior donations.
4.5 0% platform fee and voluntary contributions
GospelGram charges a 0% platform fee — we never take a mandatory cut of any donation, and missionaries keep 100% of every gift (less payment processing, Section 4.6). To keep it that way, we rely on the generosity of donors: at checkout, donors may be offered the option to leave a separate, entirely voluntary contribution to Theodoxia LLC to support the operation of the Platform. Where offered, any such contribution:
- is shown transparently as a separate, optional amount;
- can be changed or set to zero before completing the donation;
- is added on top of the donation amount and is never deducted from the missionary’s donation;
- is a payment to Theodoxia LLC — not a donation to any missionary or charity, and not tax-deductible.
4.6 Payment processing and fees
All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. (“Stripe”). Stripe charges standard payment processing fees for each transaction (which vary by country and payment method), deducted in accordance with Stripe’s terms. GospelGram does not add any fee on top of Stripe’s standard processing fees.
4.7 Refunds
Because GospelGram does not hold donation funds, refunds are handled directly between the donor, the recipient missionary, and Stripe. A donor may request a refund by contacting support@theodoxia.com, and GospelGram will facilitate the request in good faith. GospelGram has no obligation to issue refunds and is not liable for the recipient’s inability or refusal to return funds. Voluntary platform contributions paid to Theodoxia LLC may be refunded at Theodoxia LLC’s discretion for a period of 30 days following the contribution.
4.8 Chargebacks and disputes
If a donor initiates a chargeback or payment dispute, Stripe’s standard dispute resolution process applies. Recipient missionaries are solely responsible for chargebacks filed against their donations. GospelGram may suspend or terminate any account with excessive chargebacks or evidence of fraudulent activity.
5. Verification and fundraising
5.1 Payout verification requirement
To receive donations through the Service, a missionary must complete identity and payout verification with our payment processor, Stripe — including Stripe’s Know Your Customer (KYC) checks — and have payouts enabled. Accounts that have not completed payout verification cannot receive donations.
5.2 Organization verification is a trust signal, not a guarantee
Separately, a missionary may be verified by an affiliated Christian organization, which is displayed as a verification badge. That badge indicates the organization has confirmed the missionary’s identity and association. Verification of any kind is nota guarantee of a missionary’s conduct, use of funds, theological orthodoxy, or any specific outcome. Donors should exercise their own judgment before giving.
5.3 Privacy settings
Users choose their own account visibility from three settings:
- Public — profile and content are visible to everyone and appear in search and discovery.
- Private — the profile remains discoverable, but posts and activity are visible only to approved followers.
- Under His Shadow — the account is hidden from search and discovery entirely and is reachable only through links the user shares. Intended for missionaries operating in regions where public identification poses safety risks.
5.4 Missionary responsibilities
Missionaries who receive donations agree to:
- Use donated funds for the purposes represented on their profile and fundraiser pages;
- Keep donors reasonably informed through posts and updates;
- Not misrepresent themselves, their work, their organization, or their fundraising purpose;
- Comply with all applicable local, state, federal, and international laws, including tax reporting obligations;
- Respond in good faith to questions or concerns from donors or GospelGram staff.
5.5 Organization responsibilities
Organizations that verify missionaries agree to:
- Maintain truthful records of their affiliation with verified missionaries;
- Promptly notify GospelGram if a verified missionary is no longer affiliated with them;
- Cooperate reasonably with GospelGram regarding verification status, disputes, or fraud investigations.
5.6 Revocation
GospelGram may revoke verification badges or suspend the ability to receive donations at any time, with or without cause, including if a verifying organization withdraws its affiliation, if the missionary violates these Terms, or if GospelGram has reasonable concerns about fraud or misconduct.
6. Statement of faith and doctrinal agreement
GospelGram is an explicitly Christian platform. By accepting these Terms when you create your account, you accept this section along with them.
6.1 What we believe
Theodoxia LLC and GospelGram are built on the historic Christian faith as confessed by the worldwide Church across the centuries. Our full statement of faith is published at theodoxia.com/what-we-believe and is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By creating an account and accepting these Terms, you agree to honor and respect these beliefs in your conduct and content on the Service. You are not required to personally hold these beliefs in order to browse, follow, or give; you are required not to use the Service to attack, mock, or work against them.
6.2 The essential doctrines (the “Majors”)
The essentials of the Christian faith that GospelGram stands on, and that everyone who accepts these Terms agrees to honor, are:
- The Trinity — one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
- Jesus Christ — fully God and fully man; His virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death on the cross, and bodily resurrection; His ascension and His personal, visible return.
- The Holy Spirit — true God, who gives new birth and indwells, sanctifies, and empowers believers.
- Humanity — all people are made in the image of God with inherent dignity, are fallen in sin, and cannot save themselves.
- Salvation — by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone, who is the one Mediator between God and man.
- The Scriptures — the Bible is the inspired, fully trustworthy Word of God and the final authority for faith and life.
- The Gospel and the Church — the good news of Jesus Christ is for every nation, and the Church is sent to proclaim it to the ends of the earth.
- The last things — the return of Christ, the resurrection of the dead, final judgment, and everlasting life with God for those in Christ.
6.3 Fundraising is limited to purposes consistent with our faith
GospelGram exists so that Christians can serve God and love the world. You may raise funds to help anyone, of any faith or none — feeding the hungry, caring for the sick, sheltering the displaced, relieving the poor, and meeting human need wherever it is found. Christians are called to do good to all people, and the Service is built for exactly that.
However, the Service may not be used to promote, propagate, advance, or raise or channel funds for the worship, mission, teaching, or institutions of any religion other than the Christian faith set out in this section. By way of example and not limitation, funds may not be raised to build or operate a mosque, temple, or other non-Christian house of worship, to fund the spread of Islam, Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witness teaching, or any other non-Christian belief system, or to support any cause whose purpose is to advance a religion contrary to the Majors above. Only accounts and organizations that accept these Terms — and with them this statement of faith — may raise funds for religious, ministry, or missionary purposes on the Service.
6.4 Our right to enforce this section
These beliefs are foundational to what GospelGram is. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion and at any time, with or without prior notice, to remove any content, decline or reverse any fundraiser, revoke verification, and suspend or terminate any account that we determine violates this section or uses the Service in a manner contrary to the beliefs set out here. This right is in addition to, and does not limit, our rights under Section 8 (Moderation and enforcement) and Section 12 (Termination). We will apply this section with fairness and in good faith.
7. User content
7.1 Ownership
You retain ownership of the content you post to the Service (“User Content”).
7.2 License you grant us
By posting User Content, you grant Theodoxia LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to use, copy, reproduce, modify, display, distribute, and publicly perform your User Content in connection with operating, promoting, and improving the Service. This license survives your termination for content you have already shared publicly through the Service.
7.3 Your representations
You represent and warrant that:
- You own or have the necessary rights to the User Content you post;
- Your User Content does not violate any law, contract, or third-party right;
- You have obtained all necessary permissions and releases from any identifiable people in your content;
- Your content is truthful and not misleading.
7.4 Prohibited content
You may not post content that:
- Is unlawful, defamatory, fraudulent, deceptive, obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit;
- Exploits, endangers, or sexualizes minors;
- Incites violence, harassment, or hatred based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin;
- Infringes intellectual property rights;
- Contains malware, viruses, or malicious code;
- Impersonates any person or organization;
- Solicits payment or donations outside of GospelGram’s donation system (including payment handles, external payment links, or requests for off-platform giving);
- Makes false claims about missionary status, organizational affiliation, or verification;
- Violates the privacy of any person;
- Spams, phishes, or otherwise abuses other Users;
- Is intended to manipulate the Service’s discovery or recommendation systems.
8. Moderation and enforcement
8.1 Our right to moderate
GospelGram may, at its sole discretion and without prior notice, remove any content, suspend or terminate any account, restrict Service access, or take any other action it deems appropriate to enforce these Terms, comply with applicable law, or protect the Service and its Users.
8.2 Reporting violations
You may report suspected violations, including fraudulent fundraising, through the in-app “Report” function or by emailing support@theodoxia.com. We review all reports in good faith but do not guarantee any specific outcome.
8.3 Appeals
If your account is suspended or content is removed, you may appeal by emailing support@theodoxia.com with a brief explanation of the circumstances. We will consider appeals in good faith.
9. Intellectual property
9.1 Our intellectual property

9.2 Feedback
If you submit feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant Theodoxia LLC a royalty-free, irrevocable, perpetual license to use them without compensation or obligation to you.
10. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to our data practices as described there.
11. Third-party services
The Service integrates with third-party services, including Stripe (payment processing), Supabase (data infrastructure), and others. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. GospelGram is not responsible for the acts or omissions of third-party providers.
12. Termination
12.1 By you
You may terminate your account at any time through the in-app account deletion flow (see how deletion works) or by emailing support@theodoxia.com. Upon termination, your profile, posts, and data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy, subject to certain records we are required to retain for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.
12.2 By us
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraud or unlawful conduct, created risk for us or other Users, or for any other reason at our sole discretion.
12.3 Effect of termination
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including sections on Donations, Intellectual Property, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Dispute Resolution) will survive.
13. Disclaimers
13.1 Service provided “as is”
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR UNINTERRUPTED SERVICE.
13.2 No warranty regarding users
We do not warrant the identity, truthfulness, or conduct of any User, including verified missionaries. Verification is a trust signal; it is not a guarantee. Donors rely on the conduct and representations of missionaries at their own risk.
13.3 No warranty of outcome
We make no warranty that any donation will be used as represented, that any fundraising goal will be met, or that any particular outcome will result from your use of the Service.
14. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THEODOXIA LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100) OR (B) THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF VOLUNTARY PLATFORM CONTRIBUTIONS YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY LOST, MISUSED, OR MISAPPROPRIATED DONATIONS. Donations flow directly between donor and recipient; we do not hold the funds and are not responsible for their use.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Theodoxia LLC and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or relating to:
- Your use of the Service;
- Your User Content;
- Your breach of these Terms;
- Your violation of any law or third-party right;
- For missionaries who receive donations: your fundraising representations and use of donated funds.

When we make material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you by email or in-app notice, and the updated Terms take effect when we post them or on any effective date we specify. Your continued use of the Service after the updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of them.

18.2 Severability
If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder of these Terms will remain in effect.
18.3 No waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision.
18.4 Assignment
You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms freely, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
